More Bestival 2011 announcements

21 03 2011

Just announced this second.

On top of the first batch of the lineup announced last December (including The Cure, Crystal Castles,  Norman Jay, Boys Noize, Katy B and A-Trak), Rob Da Bank’s just announced a whole load more of the lineup, including the Friday headliners… Pendulum.

Also gracing the Isle of Wight this September as part of Rob’s annual bash are The Drums, Toots and the Maytals, Patrick Wolf, Global Communication, Clare Maguire, Paloma Faith, Village People, Big Audio Dynamite, Mogwai, Kelis, Chromeo, PJ Harvey, The Maccabees, Public Enemy,  Wretch32, Gentlments Dub Club, T.E.E.D., Dan le Sac and Scroobius Pip, Ms Dynamite, Ed Sheeran, Dry the River and more.

And all that’s only the first part, carrying on there’ll be Fatboy Slim, Groove Armada (DJ set), Hi Tek Soul, Derrick May, Pete Tong, Derrick Carter, Andrew Weatherall, Andy C, Congo Natty, Loefah, Joy Orbison, Skrillex, DJ Derek, Claude Von Stroke, Doorly, Tensake, Julio Bashmore, Bok Bok all doing their DJ thing as well as the return of the packed-to-the-rafters-last-year, Annie Mac Presents tent.

The full line-up’s over on the Bestival site. It’s looking well and truly bonkers. And there’s still the Sunday headliner to be announced.

Update – As if that wasn’t all enough, Hyperdub will be representing in full force with Kode9, Joker and King Midas Sound. So will the one and only Rinse FM with DJ Zinc, Skream, Benga and more, Digital Soundboy with Shy FX, Breakage and more, as well as the legendary Numbers crew featuring Jackmaster and Spencer and Deadboy (again), more.

Update 2 – Maybe it may have been easier to just announce who wasn’t playing? (!)
